LEAP201, a venture philanthropy organisation whose mission is to alleviate the poverty situation in rural Southeast Asia, commissioned EMPACT to research and report on the state of agriculture sector’s social enterprises in Myanmar and Cambodia.

The research objectives were to identify the challenges and opportunities in both countries; develop a basic framework of agriculture sector social enterprise; assess the needs and suggest potential support initiatives to address those needs.

EMPACT conducted field trips and interviews in Myanmar and Cambodia. The report was launched at Leap201’s conference with fellow funders and served as the foundation for funding discussion and decision making.
