SportCares Foundation – Saturday Nights Light

November 12, 2019 |

Background:

Saturday Nights Light (SNL) is a soccer programme run by SportCares Foundation aimed at latchkey youths. With mentorship and training from established soccer players on Saturday nights, these youths are engaged and guarded from negative influences.

Outcome:

By synthesising different psychometric evaluation tools and developing constructs that include self-esteem, community spirit, sportsmanship teamwork and conflict resolution, EMPACT was able to capture the impact the programme had on the youths. This was supported by qualitative research done through interviews as well as literature reviews on positive youth development and interventions for at-risk youths.

Based on the report done, SportCares Foundation was able to secure continued funding support from Changi Foundation.
