Background:
In April 2017, MINDS Social Enterprise Unit piloted a new programme, Social Combinator (SoCo), aimed at creating a hybrid model of employment situated between Open Employment and Sheltered Employment.
This model involves working together with industry partners within the premises of MINDS, to provide long term sustainable employment for the MINDS clients. The team carried out a baseline assessment by interviewing the industry partners and the SoCo staff. It analysed the existing processes and tools used in the programme to identify pain points.
The team co-created solutions and implemented them with an industry partner. An evaluation was conducted on the implementation and the results were assessed.
Outcome:
After a pilot implementation of the recommended solution, there was a significant increase of 38% in the productivity in the SoCo team. Once the solution is fully implemented in the programme, the team will see at least 43% increase in their productivity. The team will also experience a higher well-being at workplace.
