Peter Yang

Founder & Executive Director

Peter is the driving force behind Empact, the social enterprise he founded in 2011. Peter has become a leader not just within Empact but also in the wider Singaporean social enterprise and charitable community with his innovative thinking and passion to positively impact social organisations.

Under Peter’s leadership, Empact has developed a unique value proposition where by Empact is able to offer very affordable services to social organisations utilising a unique combination of staff and skill-based volunteers. Peter created a ‘shared-services’ platform to provide back-office functions to organisations to improve their efficiencies at a relatively lower cost. Further Peter advises corporation and grant makers in channelling talents and resources to support the capacity building of social organisations.  

From his university days, Peter has dedicated a significant portion of his time working with different sectors to create valuable community engagement programmes and has been an advisor or volunteer to various non-profit organisations. This community spirit was continued into his initial professional career with PricewaterhouseCoopers (“PwC”) where he worked for more than 8 years leaving PwC in the capacity of a Senior Manager.

Lin Pai Ling

Senior Manager, Client Servicing 

Pai Ling has 40 years of finance experience. She started her career in audit with PricewaterHouseCoopers and thereafter moved into areas of finance, securities investments and investment research. Her work experience spans multinational companies, public listed corporations and local Singapore small-medium enterprises, thus giving her a wide breadth of experience in different corporate cultures and practices. In addition, her wide geographical work travels (in Asia Pacific roles) and also her personal passion for travels brings about her understanding and appreciation of varied ethnic and cultural beliefs and practices.

She is excited to further widen her horizon to include efforts with non-profit initiatives and to contribute to the society with her finance experiences and background.

Pai Ling obtained her Bachelor degree in Commerce (Accountancy) from National Technological University, Singapore and is a qualified Accountant. She is also a member of the Chartered Global Management Accountant.

Mandy Yeo

Manager, Client Servicing 

Mandy started her career in audit, result driven qualified professional with extensive experiences in finance and operations management within listed companies and private companies in various sectors. She is highly motivated, confident client manager with exceptional multi-tasking and organisational skills. She Possess a significant record of achievement in account management and able to understand and identify the needs of various stakeholders. 

Mandy holds a Master in Business Administration, a member of ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.

Colleen Chan

Manager, Client Servicing 

Colleen is a Client Servicing Manager of Empact. She leads a team of executives in the firm, coaches volunteers and manages client relationships and needs.

Prior to Empact, Colleen was an auditor in PricewaterhouseCoopers and subsequently worked as an accountant in an MNC. She has vast experience in dealing with accounts of varying sizes and requirements. Having audited large government bodies and financial institutions with accounts that have high statutory audit requirements, Colleen is able to advise in such areas of concern and is passionate in improving workflow in SMEs in order to ensure timeliness and accuracy in both statutory and management reporting.

Colleen holds a Bachelor of Accountancy from Singapore Management University and is currently a certified Chartered Accountant (Singapore).

Estela Cano

Senior Executive, Client Servicing

Estela graduated from Holy Angel University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accountancy and has completed a Masters of Business Management from University of the Philippines.

She then went on to handle the Sales and Marketing Sections of a Manufacturing-Export company in the Philippines for more than 7 years and was able to grow and develop a competitive team while achieving targeted sales each year.

After spending some time in Singapore as part of her earlier role, she took the step to work in Singapore on a permanent basis. Estela was hired initially as Finance and HR Executive in a Print Media company. Later on, she took on a bigger role to also monitor Design, Production and Distribution sections. This made her more flexible in terms of managing people and the company's transactions in different sections for 7 years.

After office hours, she spends most of her time serving in a Catholic Christian Filipino community here in Singapore. She also enjoys cooking, writing poems and strumming her guitar.

Lu Jiali

Principal Consultant, Strategy & Client Solutions

Jiali supports the team by developing, managing and evaluating programmes which strengthen Empact's position as an intermediary between skill-based volunteers and social organisations. 

After graduating from the National University of Singapore with a social sciences degree, Jiali furthered her interests in social psychology and organisational development by pursuing a career in the public sector. There, she had the opportunity to develop national programmes for youths and support the growth of the youth sector and its sector partners. 

Jiali believes in the potential of creative arts and dance to positively impact the larger community, and spends time mentoring youths in her church. 


Jessica Gomez-Duran

Senior Consultant

Jessica is the newest member of the Empact team and is primarily responsible for servicing our corporate clients and curating and managing their volunteer needs.

Jessica has always been passionate about the charitable sector. For nearly 7 years she worked for The ONE Campaign, a grassroots campaigning and advocacy organisation focused on sub-Saharan Africa. Following this she was the Asia Hub Director for the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals campaign, run by the film director Richard Curtis. Jessica's wide ranging experience covers relationship management, celebrity liaison, special projects, partnership building, and communications.

Jessica obtained her Bachelor Degree in French and Geography from the University of Leeds (UK) and then pursued a Masters in 'Leadership for Sustainable Development' from leading charity Forum for the Future, in partnership with Middlesex University.

Born in Spain, worked in the UK, and now relocated to Singapore, Jessica is also a supporter of social enterprises in her spare time; she is an advisor for GOOD Travel in New Zealand and supports Soristic here in Singapore.

Kevin Adhiprana

Associate Consultant

Kevin brings with him a mix of project management, and system and process redesign skills. So far at Empact, Kevin has coordinated a system redesign process for Community Foundation of Singapore together with a group of student volunteers and professionals. The project scope included understanding current grant making processes and identifying the gaps, as well as redesigning the process map. 

Kevin recently graduated from National University of Singapore with a degree in Business Administration. He previously worked for Kraft Foods as a Human Resources and Corporate Communications Intern. 

Foo Mei Ling

Manager, Volunteer Relations

Mei Ling plays one important role to Empact as a Volunteer Relationship Manager. She is responsible for the onboarding of new volunteers and manages relationships with them. Mei Ling conceptualises and executes Empact's Volunteer Development Programme which includes sectorial workshops, dialogues with thought leaders and learning journeys.

Mei Ling was a long term volunteer with a social organisation. She also has extensive experience in the banking sector. Her experience includes wide-ranging operation and management roles at DBS and Citibank. She was part of the teams responsible from strategic to developmental and to the implementation stages of initiatives in areas of training and customer service. 

During her 8 years at DBS, she was responsible for delivering service strategies, driving related training and staff communication as well as overseeing the welfare for more than 600 staff across the entire branch network.

Mei Ling enjoys keeping fit and is constantly on the lookout for new learning opportunities for herself.
